Shutdown causes hunger crisis for families as benefits are put at risk 

As the government shutdown continues, families who rely on SNAP (also known as CalFresh) benefits are losing access to the programs that help them put food on the table. For every meal food banks provide, CalFresh provides nine. We were never meant to solve hunger alone.
