Healthy Communities
The Nutrition Health and Wellness department is committed to reducing health disparities and obesity through education and prevention programs, such as the Network for a Healthy California –Latino and Power Play! Campaigns and the California Association of Food Bank-Nutrition Education program.
With projects like the privately funded, Community Building Initiative, parent leaders have taken action to create policy and environmental change in their communities by advocating for improved access to physical activity and nutritious foods.
